Caldy RFC Tour to Dublin 29th - 31st Oct 2010

 

 

Caldy RFC have arranged a winter tour to Lansdowne FC in Dublin for October 2010

The intention is a reciprocal arrangement between two great clubs to foster a long term touring relationship

 

The dates have been set, and travel arrangements planned in principle as follows;

 

Travel from Birkenhead via Ferry to Dublin Port leaving at 10pm on Thursday 28th October arriving in Dublin at 0515 on Friday 29th October. Cab-

ins will be available and details passed on once numbers are confirmed.

Accommodation to be at the D4 Berkeley Hotel (4 Star) http://www.d4hotels.ie/D4-Berkeley/d4-berkeley.html with Breakfast included

Transfers will be arranged to and from the port and hotel

Hotel is 5 minutes walk from Lansdowne Road and from the DART station that gets you into Dublin city in less than 10 minutes

Play Lansdowne Killer Bs (4th Team) and Golden Oldies mixed team under floodlights in the new Lansdowne stadium on Friday evening

Meal at new Lansdowne Club following the match

Saturday - either; Day at the races / Golf / Leinster game at RDS

Saturday night on the town

Return to Birkenhead on Sunday arriving at 1715

 

The cost of the tour is to be under €200 each with options for monthly payments. Travel insurance is also available at a minimal cost to those that require it. A commemorative Caldy RFC shirt will be part of the package, please ensure that you communicate your size to Pat Parkinson. Caldy

club ties will be expected to be worn at the meal at Lansdowne. A suitable Judge will be voted in, please volunteer someone as you see fit.

 

A non-refundable deposit will be expected and a kitty will be organised. Opportunities for single rooms are available but must be indicated in ad-

vance. There is a surcharge for this as it is expected that all will be willing to share.

 

The tour is open to all at Caldy and it is intended to run a number of events at the club to help fund the tour¼the first of which will coincide with

the Beer Festival on Saturday 29th May - To include the inaugural Caldy Bar Olympics Team event with a Bookmaker thrown in.

 

Please indicate your availability and preferences on the sheet provided in the club or contact one of the tour team to put your name down for you. We would like to confirm numbers by mid June if possible to ensure that we get the most competitive travel and accommodation rates available.

 

A meeting will be held at the club once we have a tour party together
